About
Anderson Anderdaughter Children’s Theatre (AACT) is a children's theater group based on the South Shore of Massachusetts that’s been established since 2005. We promote children’s creativity, confidence, and personal growth by helping our performers discover their endless talents and showcase them in a fun-filled musical.
Meet the Team
Barbara Anderson
Founder
After graduating from Bridgewater State College with a BA in Theater, Barbara Anderson began her own children’s theater program in the early 1980’s. It started in Whitman Mass and blossomed all over the South Shore. For her final project, she partnered with her daughter, Erin Sweeney to create Anderson Anderdaughter. She and Erin worked side by side until her untimely passing in 2015.
Erin Sweeney
Director
Erin Sweeney is now the sole owner of AACT, and is determined to carry on her mother’s legacy. She is a graduate of Worcester State College with a BA in Communications and a concentration in Theater. Naturally, Erin grew up on the stage performing in countless musicals throughout her young life and college career, but her true passion lies in directing. Her mother instilled Erin with a profound love and appreciation of Musical Theater.
Ella Sweeney
Choreographer
Ella is the granddaughter to Barbara Anderson. She earned her BFA in commercial dance from AMDA LA in the spring of 2024. She now works bicoastally as a dancer, choreographer, entertainment host, and actor in Los Angeles, Boston, and New York. Ella has performed alongside numerous industry giants, including Rick Astley, Ross Lynch, Todrick Hall, and Director, Joseph Kahn. She has appeared in several television commercials, movies, and music videos. She most recently stared in a Super Bowl commercial featuring Hailee Steinfeld and Wanda Sykes. Ella spends her summers choreographing for AACT.
Jessica Veneto
Vocal Director
Jessica graduated from Saint Rose College (New York) during the spring of 2020 with a BS in Music Education. During her time at St Rose she earned numerous vocal accolades. Her most memorable achievements include singing alongside the renowned Philadelphia Orchestra and sharing the stage with Broadway sensation, Patti Lupone. Jessica Veneto is currently teaching music for the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District.
